M&A advisory

Give deal professionals more time for judgement and relationships.

Boutique advisory firms run on a small number of experienced people. Halcroft assesses which repeatable transaction work is consuming their time, and whether AI or automation can improve capacity and control without weakening either.

Typically: Managing partner, deal team leader or operations lead at a boutique M&A advisory firm.

Where the constraint sits

  • Buyer-list and research work done by senior people
  • NDA administration and document coordination handled by hand
  • Teaser and report preparation restarted for each mandate

Proof status

No published case study for this sector yet.

Halcroft has not published an M&A advisory engagement. The closest published work is in business brokerage, where the same kinds of qualification, follow-up and document coordination arise. What we offer here is the assessment method, not a result.

Example systems

What the system handles, and what your people decide.

Research-to-Report System

Compresses the distance between a pile of source material and a structured first draft in the firm’s own format.

The system handles

  • Ingests approved filings, transcripts, notes, and prior work
  • Extracts evidence into the firm’s reporting structure
  • Produces a traceable first draft with claims linked to sources

People decide

  • What the evidence means
  • Which interpretation the firm is prepared to stand behind
  • What reaches the client

Due-Diligence Review System

Puts a consistent first pass across the data room so reviewers spend their time on judgement, not on locating the clause.

The system handles

  • Classifies documents across the data room
  • Flags clauses and issues against the firm’s taxonomy
  • Links each flag to the relevant source location

People decide

  • Whether a flag is material
  • How findings affect the transaction view
  • What is entered into the approved findings log

How it starts

Assess broadly, build narrowly.

  1. 01

    Introductory call

45 minutes, free. We look at where capacity is constrained and whether an assessment is worth doing. It is a conversation, not an audit.

  2. 02

    Paid operational AI assessment

Fixed fee, scoped before it starts. Interviews, process and systems review, a baseline where the data allows, ranked opportunities with the financial assumptions, risks, and what not to automate. The report stands on its own, whether or not Halcroft builds anything.

  3. 03

    Scoped implementation

Separately proposed and only where the assessment supports it. Agreed problem, acceptance criteria, data and security arrangements, human review points, training, handover, and measurement of the result.

  4. 04

    Ongoing support

Optional, and only where there is a real recurring responsibility. Separately agreed, with its own fee and service scope. Many engagements end at handover.

A useful first conversation

Discuss where transaction work is consuming senior capacity.

On a free introductory call we look at which parts of a mandate repeat, and say plainly if an assessment would not be worth paying for.
